The Artisan Center- Martinsville, Virginia
The Gallery located at 54 West Church Street, Martinsville, Virginia,
The Center offers area and regional artisans a new outlet to showcase and sell their original artwork. Southern Virginia Artisan Center is dedicated to developing artistic talent, enriching lives and educating future artisans by turning peoples’ passion for art into an entrepreneurial opportunity.
The Artisan Center is a growing retail and consignment shop that houses beautiful pieces of art. We offer a convenient local source to promote crafters and to sell unique artistic works.
Working in union with Patrick Henry Community College and the School of Crafts and Design, students, instructors, and local established artists all contribute to the inviting character of the Artisan Center through many different mediums.
Folk art, photography, paintings, and quilted artwork are only the beginning of all that is available. If you enjoy arts and crafts or need a special one-of-a-kind gift or home decoration? Then you have to visit The Artisan Center. There are fashionable gifts of jewelry and weaving, decorative handmade baskets, pottery, and stained glass.
Woodworkers use hand carving and wood-turning techniques to create decorative home accents, duck decoys, and furniture pieces that are functional and useable art.
Unlike any other community college in the state, in two short years we have gone from a plan on paper to a facility with forty talented artisans, offering quality crafts and art.
The Visitor’s Center is a wonderful place to find information about area attractions and businesses, along with maps and brochures that provide information on the entire state of Virginia.
We invite you to visit The Artisan Center facility, become a member of the organization and take advantage of our numerous creative offerings.
